Apple’s latest flagship phones, the iPhone 14 and the 14 Plus are now available from telus PCI Wireless for Telus EPP, Consumer, Business and Corporate customers. These TELUS phones more affordable compared to the higher end models, which are iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The screens of iPhone 14 and 14 Plus models have 6.1- and 6.7-inch sizes, respectively. The designs are identical to their predecessors, the iPhone 13. They all have aluminum enclosures that are aerospace-grade, featuring flat edges and backs made from glass for easy wireless charging.
Both phones have a noticeable notch located at the top wherein the TrueDepth camera lies. Features include Dolby Vision, Super Retina XDR OLED displays with 1200 nits peak brightness, a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and True Tone for balancing room lighting and whiteness. Compared to the Pro models, the iPhone 14 phones have no ProMotion display.
A Ceramic Shield covers the display for durable protection. Aside from that, all 14 variants have a water resistance rating of IP68. This means if any of them is submerged in water at a maximum of 6 feet deep for 30 minutes, it can still survive.
With the continued use of the A15 chip, iPhone 14 models are as powerful as iPhone 13 phones but with an improved internal design for enhanced thermal performance. It is to be noted that the chip boasts a 5-core GPU, a 6-core CPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
The better 12-megapixel Wide camera features an ƒ/1.5 aperture, a bigger sensor, and greater 1.9 µm pixels for increased low-light performance. Additionally, the models have sensor-shift optical image stabilization and an upgraded TrueDepth camera. This has the Photonic Engine compared to Ultra Wide.
The Photonic Engine elevates the low-light performance, wherein one can set it on 2.5x on the Wide, 2x on Ultra Wide, and 2x on the TrueDepth. It also extends to Deep Fusion, which provides outstanding detail while retaining subtle textures and offering improved colour.
While taking videos with iPhone 14 or 14 Plus, the Action mode aids you in capturing smoothly through enriched image stabilization. This allows you to adjust easily despite the vibrations and shakes. On the other hand, the Cinematic mode can shoot either in 4K at 24 fps or 4K at 30 fps. With improved uniformity for more steady lighting, the True Tone flash is 10 percent better.
In terms of safety, the phones have a dual-core accelerometer which can reach up to 256Gs. Also included is a high dynamic range gyroscope wherein it powers the Crash Detection feature. This can enable the phones to contact emergency services immediately if serious accidents happen.
There are also other safety measures included aside from that. The barometer can detect any cabin pressure changes while the GPS can monitor sudden changes in speed and the microphone can capture crash noises.
An additional yet optional safety feature is the Emergency SOS via satellite. This helps you to directly connect to the satellites for communication in times of emergencies, especially if there is no connection to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
The SOS feature works optimally in open areas and, for the first 2 years, it is free. The connectivity to satellites can also be used to share your present location through the Find My app. This can help assure your family and friends whenever you’re on an adventure.
Same with the iPhone 13 phones, the iPhone 14 models support 5G connectivity through the updated Qualcomm X65 modem. These models can be shipped even without physical SIM cards. They will utilize eSIM as carriers within the US.
The battery life of iPhone 14 models has been improved significantly. It can last at least an hour longer than the iPhone 13 phones. Furthermore, the iPhone 14 Plus models have an even longer battery life. You can watch videos for 26 hours straight before the battery drains.
All of the TELUS iPhone 14 models are available with storage capacities of 128, 256, and 512 GB. They can either utilize the MagSafe charging, which draws power from 15W chargers, or the Lightning fast charging, which draws power from 20W or higher chargers. Lastly, these iPhone 14 phones support Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6.
