Building on the success of the previous Apple Watch generations, the Series 7 comes with fresh new updates that were designed to improve users’ experience with the product. However, is it really worth the price?

Plus, if you already own one of the older Apple Watch models, will these upgrades make the switch worthwhile?

Check out this article to learn more about the new changes and see for yourself whether or not the new models will give you your money’s worth.

  1. Sturdier Than Ever

The tech giant made some significant changes to the new lineup’s build, wherein they upgraded certain qualities to make it more resistant to harsh outdoor conditions and better at tracking your physical activities.

The Series 7 now features IPX6 dust resistance and crystal cover coating, giving the new models an extra 50% thickness and overall better durability.

Because of this, users no longer have to worry about damaging their Apple Watch while enjoying their favourite outdoor activities like hiking.

     2. Quicker Charging Time

The new Series 7’s charging capacity was also upgraded, so now it takes less time to achieve a fully charged battery.

In fact, Apple said that their new products could charge up to 33% faster than the last Apple Watch generation – the Series 6. This means that the battery life can quickly go from 0% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

     3. Wider Display

Apple also decided to take it up a notch with the Series 7’s display, as the new models now feature bigger screen sizes at 41mm and 45mm. Of course, this is only slightly larger than the 40mm and 44mm displays of its last three predecessors – the Series 4, 5, and 6.

However, thanks to Apple reducing the screen’s borders by 40%, users get to enjoy broader displays without adding to the bulk or weight on their wrists.

The new screen sizes for the Series 7 are approximately 20% larger than the last three generations – dimensions that were initially introduced in 2018 and haven’t been changed until now.

     4. Intuitive User Interface

Apple has also updated all the user interfaces of the Series 7’s included apps, such as the timer, activity, and stopwatch. The icons are now larger and easier to see, and they also updated several watch faces to ensure compatibility and optimization with the new display.

For example, the Modular watch face was modified so that it now showcases more information on a single page. This is perfect if you’re always on the go and only have time to quickly glance at your watch for updates.

     5. New Full-Sized On-Screen Keyboard

The company has also included a new full-sized on-screen keyboard in the Series 7 Apple Watch models.

This is so that users can fully maximize what the bigger screen sizes have to offer, as it allows them to quickly type or respond to messages on their watch like how they would on their TELUS phones.

Moreover, since it’s a full-sized QWERTY keyboard, users can more easily create longer and more complex messages that they otherwise couldn’t do via scribbling or dictation.

    6. Brighter on “Always-On”

Aside from the larger display, on-screen keyboard, and updated UIs, Apple also made changes to the screen’s brightness, specifically when set on “always-on” mode. Simply put, the new models now have brighter and more visible screens.

The new screens are approximately up to 70% brighter than its predecessors’ displays, even when the wrist is facing down or worn indoors.

This additional brightness can come in handy if you need to quickly read notifications on your watch without waiting for your eyes to adjust.

Conclusion

The new changes in the Series 7 Apple Watch models have taken what was already fantastic and lifted it to new levels to offer better experiences to its users.

For example, the larger display and improved visibility are perfect for customers who have trouble seeing clearly.

Apple really impressed fans with this new Apple Watch lineup, and many are looking forward to the day they get a hold of one of their own.
